Swan Rangers got a look at what's eating what during their outings this past week!

Scroll down for the rest of their photos and details!

In our lead photo, Pat Jaquith found a Garter snake eating a mouse while . . .

. . . her grandson Sawyer found this Bordered Orb-weaver spider eating a Dragonfly!

Lynn Smith thinks this Bitterroot was partially unearthed by a bear digging other wildflower roots to eat nearby.

Lynn also came across this pair of Bluebirds while . . .

. . . Victoria Morgan's game camera captured this Tree Swallow flying in front of the Swan Range!

Pam Willison found this rain-soaked Syringa and . . .

. . . Oceanspray blossoms!

Cate Campbell came across a pretty big Puffball mushroom!

Skip Via came across his first-ever Western Sheep Moth and posted some interesting details about them here!

Ruth Quist came across this Bull Snake and . . .

. . . a much less threatening Blanketflower!

In our parting shot, Keith Hammer notes that this colorful “bouquet" along an old DNRC road is comprised of invasive weeds Red Hawkweed, Yellow Hawkweed, Oxeye Daisy, and yet-to-flower Spotted Knapweed - asking “Where are the critters that eat this stuff?”

If you have interesting photos of your outings, send them along with a description to keith@swanview.org and we'll try to work them into these weekly reports!
