Swan Rangers Ski Krause-Strawberry Loop

Thirteen Swan Rangers skied a loop up Krause Basin and down the Strawberry Lake Road on Saturday, December 29.

The last outing of 2012 was the 370th Saturday outing since they were started in November 2005!

The Rangers are trying hard to wear the snow out in Krause Basin, but it's a hard area to grow tired of!

A bit of elbow room before the trail narrows.

A little fresh snow each day the last several days in Krause Basin!

Enough snow to turn some trees into cartoon characters!

Bigger than weasel. Perhaps bounding pine marten?

Some stream crossings still lack snow bridges, but not ice sculptures!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

Everyone is welcome!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
