Swan Rangers Hike Swan River Trail!

The clouds lifted during the 4-mile round trip! (Keith Hammer photos)

Thirteen Swan Rangers hiked the Swan River Nature Trail just upstream from Bigfork on a rainy Saturday, February 27, 2016!

A great place to see ducks and geese, but they didn't come close for photo-ops!

The photographer attempts to keep the whole group dry with his umbrella!

The Rangers always find something interesting, even when they do little!

This milepost seems to be collecting rings of birch bark!

This log that fell across the trail was sawn clear early this winter, but is still weeping about it!

This old stump, however, quit weeping long ago and simply decided to get on with life!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

Everyone is welcome!
