Six Swan Rangers hiked along the Swan River upstream from Bigfork on Saturday, December 7, 2013.

They ignored the advice of their breakfast waitress and braved the sub-zero temperatures to get a bit of fresh air and exercise!

Solar powered smiles!

Solar power feeding directly into transmission lines!

Solar powered ponderosa pines!

Solar powered hillside!

But still cold enough to freeze your water bottle!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.
