Alpine #7 view of Strawberry Lake. (Roger Benson photos)
Eight Swan Rangers hiked to Strawberry Lake, then up Alpine Trail #7 to overlook Wildcat Lake on Saturday, September 14, 2013!
It was a beautiful, sunny day and the huckleberries weren't bad either!

Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at the trailhead!

Still bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at Strawberry Lake!

While the mountain ash is certainly beautiful this time of year . . .

, , , huckleberries still seem to get most of the attention . . .

. . . unless you're a woodpecker, in which case trees full of ants like this one can't be beat!
The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.
They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.
When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.
Everyone is welcome!
