Great views begin along the old road to Malfunction Junction! (Keith Hammer photos)
Ten Swan Rangers hiked Mount Aeneas in a bit of snow on Saturday, October 6.
A chilly breeze and light snow squals on the peak gave way to warmth and sunshine on the return!

The Rangers pause at Malfunction Junction, where Alpine 7 and several other trails converge.

Zee route to zee peak called Aeneas!

Picnic Lakes, center, Black Lake at right, and Great Northern Mountain at distant right.

Looking south along the Swan Crest under a brooding, slightly squally sky!

The Flathead Valley is a beautiful place to live, especially with wonderful Swan Range hiking nearby!
The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.
They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.
When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.
Everyone is welcome!
