Swan Rangers Hike and Clear Strawberry Lake Trail

Twelve Swan Rangers hiked and cleared all but one too-large-for-handsaw deadfall from the Strawberry Lake Trail on Saturday, November 17.

It was a balmy day and days-old grizzly bear tracks were seen. It's a couple weeks late for swimming!

The ever-elusive blue "sucker hole" near Strawberry Mountain!

Are those griz tracks or do the Swan Rangers need to trim their toenails?

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

It's a good idea to wear bright colors, if not "hunter orange," during big game rifle season Oct 20 - Nov 25.

Everyone is welcome!
