Swan Rangers Enjoy Krause Basin!

Cottonwood Bottom on a blue sky day! (Keith Hammer photos)

Twenty four Swan Rangers enjoyed Krause Basin by ski and snowshoe on a crispy blue Saturday, February 1, 2014!

Hard to tell if the large turnout was due to the fresh snow or an attempt to burn calories in advance of Super Bowl Sunday!

An old network of roads in Krause Basin, snowed-in during winter and great for skiing and snowshoeing, are shown on the Swan Lake District Map.

"You may need to do a stitched-together panorama shot!"

Cruising up Krause Creek, going to have a little fun!

Snow has pretty well cloaked this little tree . . .

. . . but has a ways yet to go on this big cottonwood!

Dangerous curve but with a soft landing!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

Everyone is welcome!
