Swan Rangers saw lots of critters during their outings this past week!

Scroll down for the rest of their photos and details!

Keith Hammer used a telephoto lens and the safety of a car to take our lead photo while . . .

. . . Lynn Smith also used a telephoto to avoid being gored by this Loon . . .

. . . as did Evelina Groszewski with this super aggressive Pacific Wren!

Norma Linsky got a photo of a Garter Snake moving toward her while . . .

. . . Pam Willison caught this Red-cross Shield Beetle moving in on Keith's telephoto lens!

Pat Jaquith found this Spotted Towhee posing after catching a caterpillar and . . .

. . . spied some Skunk Cabbage a.k.a. “Swamp Candles.”

Lynn Smith caught a bunch of Calypso Orchids doing “the wave” while . . .

. . . Keith Hammer found a hillside of Wild Hyacinth and . . .

. . . a very narrow creek!

Keith also saw an Eared Grebe and . . .

. . . some young goslings with their Canada Goose parents!

In our parting shot, Sallie Gratch shows us a Goose family that nested in the greenery on a nearby roof in a big city in Illinois before being kindly relocated to a nearby lagoon by a wild bird group!

If you have interesting photos of your outings, send them along with a description to keith@swanview.org and we'll try to work them into these weekly reports!
