Swan Rangers Got Snow!
Fresh, deep snow in the Swan Range by Keith Hammer

Swan Rangers got lots of snow, especially in the Swan Range, during their outings this past week!

Scroll down to see the rest of their photos and details!

In our lead photo, Keith Hammer shows that several feet of snow fell in the Swan Range on the cusp of 2025 and . . .

. . . dressed up the Hemlock trees as though it were Christmas!

Chris Gotschalk shows us an interesting snow drift near a boulder higher up near the Swan Crest while . . .

. . . Pam Willison's photo of a Birch tree growing out of an old “nurse stump” reveals no snow on the valley floor!

Lynn Smith shows us a Pileated woodpecker willing to pose for a portrait while . . .

. . . Ruth Quist shows us a Hawk that was not!

Pat Jaquith shows us some Bald eagles. Can you find the two immature eagles that don't have white heads and trails yet?

Pat Jaquith also shows a Tree sparrow eating weed seeds along the roadside!

In our parting shot, Mary Swier-Bolhuis shows us that our NW Montana snow will end up as beautiful waves along the Pacific Coast someday!

If you have interesting photos of your outings, send them along with a description to keith@swanview.org and we'll try to work them into these weekly reports!
