In our lead photo, Keith Hammer shows it is finally turning winter in the Swan Range!

Chris Gotschalk shows us snow falling and . . .

. . . a fresh foot of it to break trail through!

Keith Hammer found the same trail not that hard to break the following day . . .

. . . and enjoyed seeing Hemlock trees draped in snow once again!

Debra Schweitzer shows a stormy day along the Flathead River and . . .

. . . Ruth Quist shows Whitetail deer taking shelter under dense tree cover!

Pat Jaquith brings us a trifecta of woodpeckers, with this American three-toed peeling back the outer bark to find bugs . . .

. . . a Hairy woodpecker peeling the bark all the way off to get to the bug galleries beneath. . .

. . . and a Pileated woodpecker looking determined to dig real deep if necessary!

Pat Jaquith also shows us a Sharp-shinned hawk perhaps relying a bit too much on its camouflage!

Pam Willison shows us how too much snow makes wildlife tracking ID difficult and . . .

. . . in our parting shot, reminds us to save enough energy to get our cars out of the parking lot after skiing!
