Swan Rangers Hike Krause Knob!

Eleven Swan Rangers hiked Krause Knob on a partly cloudy, partly sunny Saturday, April 29, 2017!

The northern aspects in Krause Basin still have heavy snow pack!

Thawed out and almost dry down low . . . (Keith Hammer photo)

. . . but a bit of fresh snowfall near the top of the Knob! (Pat Jaquith photo)

Spring is still trying, however, with the appearance of trillium . . . (Keith Hammer photo)

. . . yellow violets . . . (Pat Jaquith photo)

. . . fresh needles on larch trees . . . (Keith Hammer photo)

. . . budding mountain maple leaves . . . (Keith Hammer photo)

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills. (Note: these breakfast and leave times are an hour earlier than "winter hours").

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
