Swan Rangers enjoyed Fall hiking in many places in the week ending Saturday, September 26, 2020!

While the Swan Ranger Saturday group outings remain suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic, we will get a report out each week with items of interest to folks trying to get outside for some "social distancing" and spirit-calming fresh air.
Keith Hammer and Pam Willison's hikes included Mt. Aeneas, Krause Basin and the first portion of the Hemler Creek Trail that is a road closed to motor vehicles. They got a nice view from the Hemler Creek Trail of Flathead Lake, above . . .
. . . and Keith's photo of Hash Mountain shows a bit of Saturday morning frost up there!
They saw another beautiful wasp nest built around a clematis vine.
They were greeted by wasps at the door!
Pam found and Keith photographed honeysuckle berries . . .
. . . and a particularly beautiful mountain maple leaf!
Pam provided a couple of photos from her hike to the top of Mt. Aeneas, including this selfie overlooking Birch and Crater Lakes . . .
. . . and a green mushroom!
Keith's hike in that fairyland called Krause Basin yielded this photo of mushrooms helping decompose an old log . . .
. . . and these that already have their "hunter orange" on! But enough about Keith and Pam!
Roger Benson hiked to Apgar Lookout in Glacier National Park and sent in this photo, noting "Climbed it slowly, it’s all uphill. If I ever mention Apgar again, push me off a cliff!
Chris Gotschalk provided this photo of his hike above Elk Springs on that "purple mountain majesty" called Broken Leg Mountain!
Debra Schweitzer's photos from her hike with friends up the Peterson Creek Trail reminds us how bad some blow-down areas were this winter and spring . . .
. . . and leave us wondering if Patterson Creek is now running down the "rabbit hole" left by this uprooted tree!
