Swan Rangers Slog Peters Ridge Road!

Off we go into the wild gray yonder! (Keith Hammer photos)

Nine Swan Rangers slogged Peters Ridge Road on a sleeting, slightly slushy Saturday, April 4, 2015!

Signs of Spring, however, persist - if one is willing to look for them!

Swan Rangers attempt to rise above the sleet - or at least dress for it!

These young larch trees insist it is Spring by pushing out new green needles!

But even slush is beautiful . . .

. . . and, with a foggy lense, who needs Photoshop special effects?

A hawthorn bush adorned with water droplets!

Dead trees are loved by woodpeckers, including the rare, multi-headed pileated!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
