Swan Rangers Ski North Krause!

The snow bridge over North Krause Creek is a bit testy! (Keith Hammer photos)

Twelve Swan Rangers skied and snowshoed the north fork of Krause Basin on Saturday, December 19, and it didn't disappoint!

They saw tracks of wolverine, pine marten and snowhoe hare in a scene turned Winter just in time for a HAPPY SOLSTICE!

Most Ranger outings during winter are a mix of snowshoes and skis.

Nothing like lots of snow among towering hemlock trees!

No problem with crossing South Krause Creek!

Can you tell which critter made the tracks in each of the following photos? (Answers at end of posting).

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

Everyone is welcome!
