Swan Rangers Ski Gildart Again!

The confluence of Gildart Creek and Swan River. (Keith Hammer photos)

Six Swan Rangers returned to Gildart Creek for another ski on a half-baked Saturday, March 7, 2020!

The storm front passing through during the outing failed to dump the rain that had been forecast!

The Rangers practice their coronavirus spacing!

This beaver dam on Gildart Creek pools water that . . .

. . . makes for great reflections and photos!

Melting snow layers makes nice trim for Gildart Creek!

Looking down Gildart Creek to the Swan Crest up Lost Creek . . .

. . . where the wind-blown south slopes don't look like the 120% of average snow pack reported for the Flathead Basin!

Though it didn't rain as early in the day as forecast, it did threaten to!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When recreating in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
