Swan Rangers Ski Bog Road!

Bog Road is a great place to view the Swan Range on a sunny day! (Keith Hammer photos unless otherwise noted)

Thirteen Swan Rangers skied Bog Road in the Swan River National Wildlife Refuge on a warm and sunny Saturday, March 11, 2017!

They saw tracks of weasel, otter, coyote and more - and celebrated Spring Equinox ten days early on the first big "thaw day" of 2017!

Wonder why they call it Bog Road?

As the thaw begins, snow skiing turns to water skiing . . .

. . . in various places!

It was a springtime stripdown at the Swan River! (Susan Foster photo)

The Canada geese acted as though the Swan Rangers were instead with Border Patrol or Immigration!

Thunderbolt Mountain on the Swan Crest!

Rangers skirt an oxbow on a very fine day . . .

. . . after a little discussion of what a fine club house this old fixer-upper along the Swan River would make!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

Everyone is welcome!
