Swan Rangers Hike Peters Ridge!

Fall colors above the haze! (Keith Hammer photos)

Twelve Swan Rangers hiked the Peters Ridge Trail among gorgeous Fall colors on Saturday, September 26, 2015!

While smoke from a wildfire near the Mission Mountains' Cedar Lake limited the long views, there was plenty to look at close up!

Orange you glad you went hiking in the Swan Range?

Hiking through an entire painter's palette!

This mountain maple certainly stood out along the switchbacks just below the Swan Crest!

With a cool breeze blowing, the Rangers took a break on the lee side of the Swan Crest!

This fireweed is making sure there is lots more next year!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
