Swan Rangers Hike Broken Leg Trail!

The view up Wolf Creek Canyon! (Norma Linsky photos)

Eleven Swan Rangers hiked the Broken Leg Trail on an unexpected sunny and warm Saturday, November 26, 2016!

They went as far as Lunch Rock, where the trail crosses Wolf Creek, and called it good!

Getting all their ducks in a row on Birch Creek bridge!

Recent logging activity has turned the "trail" to mud where it crosses Stoltze Lumber property!

A view of the lower Swan River and Flathead Lake!

Sunny and dry on the south slopes of Wolf Creek Canyon!

No ice on this creek yet either!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
