Swan Rangers Hike Birch, In-Thlam-Keh Lakes!

Mount Aeneas reflected in Birch Lake! (Keith Hammer photos)

Ten Swan Rangers hiked to Birch and In-Thlam-Keh Lakes in Jewel Basin on Saturday, October 25, 2014!

Some fun was had emptying a found can of bear spray that had no trigger safety, so the Rangers could pack it out safely! ("Hack, hack, which way is the wind blowing? You get the picture!)

Now that it is hunting season, don't forget to adjust your fall fashion!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills. THESE ARE THE LATER HOURS RUNNING FROM NEXT SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1, UNTIL MAY.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Big game rifle season runs Oct 25 - Nov 30, so best to wear "hunter orange" while hiking!

Everyone is welcome!
