Swan Rangers Hike and Clear Trail to Bond Falls!

Bedrock where the canyon narrows to form Bond Falls. (Keith Hammer photos except of group)

Twelve Swan Rangers hiked and cleared the trail to Bond Falls on a sunny Saturday, May 2, 2015!

Fortunately, wildflowers were more abundant than downed logs across the trail!

There's a new foot bridge beside the old broken one at the Bond Creek crossing!

But its the same old, beautiful Bond Falls when you get there!

The Rangers cleared a handful of downed trees from the trail, but still had time to smell the plentiful wildflowers!

Like this trillium . . .

. . . these glacier lilies . . .

. . . and the infamous nose-tickling screwball sedge!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
