Swan Rangers Dodge Welcome Rain!

A welcome rainy day in the Swan Range! (Keith Hammer photos)

Seven Swan Rangers strolled the Swan River Nature Trail on a welcome rainy Saturday, September 5, 2015!

They preferred to enjoy the heavier rain showers in the Swan Range from a distance!

Never even popped the umbrellas open along the Swan River . . .

. . . though early morning clouds wrestled with the Swan Range a bit before "socking in!"

The Swan River flows mostly around the "Big Drop" rock just below the dam at lower levels.

This Douglas fir tree has sent roots far down through cliff rock to secure soil, nutients and water!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
