Swan Rangers Ski and Snowshoe North Krause!

Thirteen Swan Rangers skied and snowshoed the North Fork of Krause Creek on a snowy Saturday, December 29, 2018!

There were tracks of wildlife galore and a story told in the reading of them!

Finally, snow enough to ski or snowshoe, yet still hike-able!

A hush is falling upon the land!

Only the North Fork of Krause Creek is flowing at the crossing. The other forks are dry at the crossings this winter!

Plenty signs of wildlife in Krause Basin; this left by Floridisius migratorius!

The weather forecast and this pregnant sky promise more snow!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
