Swan Rangers shed their skis and returned to hiking in the warm week ending Saturday, November 21, 2020!

While the Swan Ranger Saturday group outings remain suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic, we will get a report out each week with items of interest to folks trying to get outside for some "social distancing" and spirit-calming fresh air.

Keith and Pam hiked the lower stretch of Gildart Creek, as far as the big meadow pictured above.

Beavers have increased the height of one of their dams on Gildart Creek . . .

 

. . . creating more wetlands compared to last year!

 

Looking east down Gildart Creek and across the Swan Valley to South Lost Creek in the Swan Range.

 

The spruce trees near the big meadow had beautiful ice droplets to show off!

 

Linda Anderson sent in this photo of one of the falls of North Crow Creek in the Mission Mountains, where she hiked with a friend!

 

Pam Willison also strayed from the Swan Range, but took this photo of swans with a Mission Mountain backdrop!

 

She also took this nice photo of hooded merganser ducks on the Swan River as she hiked the Bigfork Nature Trails!
