While the Swan Ranger Saturday group outings remain suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic, we will get a report out each week with items of interest to folks trying to get outside for some "social distancing" and spirit-calming fresh air.
Keith and Pam hiked the Switchback Trail on a sunny Wednesday and again on a cloudy Saturday with Chris and Fawn. Cottonwoods at the trailhead are going to seed/cotton . . .
. . . but are just leafing out 2,500' higher up at the juction with Alpine Trail #7! (Keith Hammer photos)
This cedar waxwing showed off his cool sunglasses . . .
. . . while Keith and Chris showed off their trail rebuilding skills where a blowndown tree took the trail with it! Another local cut the trail clear of downfall earlier in the week!
Keith took this photo of a Maraposa Lily being pollinated by a pretty beetle . . .
. . . while Pat Jaquith found one with two extra petals! She and Mary were exploring the Pete's Ridge area near Kalispell . . .

. . . where she also shot this nice view of Hungry Horse Reservoir and the eastern side of the Swan Range!
Keith and Pam also revisted a spot in Krause Basin where they are waiting for some round-leaved orchids to bloom, only to add some Pacific coralroot to their sightings of Striped and Spotted coralroots!
