Swan Rangers Hike Strawberry Lake!

Here come the afternoon rainshowers! (Keith Hammer photos)

Fifteen Swan Rangers hiked to Strawberry Lake on a showers-pending Saturday, June 9, 2018!

The ice is mostly gone and the lake is ready for swimming!

The Rangers load-test the infrastructure!

The woodpecker condo is still standing along the lower part of the trail!

Some nice color in these thimbleberry leaves!

A clematis appears to descend from the heavens!

Some glacier lilies and trillium remain along the traverse . . .

. . . along with some ballhead waterleaf!

Snow remains at Strawberry Lake, which was still two-thirds covered in ice one week ago!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
