Swan Rangers Hike Peters Ridge!

Swan Crest view of Peters Ridge and Flathead Lake! (Keith Hammer photos)

Nine Swan Rangers hiked Peters Ridge through Bee Notch on a will-it-thunderstorm Saturday, July 15, 2017!

Wildflowers remain abundant and the bees remain very happy!

After climbing up Peters Ridge the trail provides a brief traverse before . . .

. . . making a few quick switchbacks to attain the notch . . .

. . . where wild bees are busy carrying nectar and pollen back to their hives . . .

. . . from the plentiful wildflowers on the west side of the Swan Crest!

The Rangers pause for a snack atop the Swan Crest . . .

. . . and keep an eye on distant thunder storms!

Showy daisy?

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
