Swan Rangers Hike Foothills Ski Area!

A colorful Noisy Creek! (Susan Foster photos unless otherwise noted)

Four Swan Rangers hiked the Foothills Ski Area on a damp Saturday, October 21, 2017!

They wore hunter orange or other bright colors and stayed well below the fresh snow line!

Snow up high, rain down low!

Lungwort lichen soaking up the sun and damp!

Unidentified well-preserved flower!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills (times will shift an hour later starting Nov 4).

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Big game rifle hunting season is Oct 21 - Nov 26, so it is wise to wear "hunter orange" and other bright colors while hiking!

Everyone is welcome!
