Debra Schweitzer sent in our lead photo from her hike to Avalanche Lake. Along the way she also marveled at . . .

. . . a thundering herd of glacier lilies and . . .

. . . a gorge-eous Avalanche Creek!

Pat Jaquith sent in photos of an enthusiastic chipping sparrow and . . .

. . . a more mellow sandhill crane!

Keith Hammer got out and about and saw striped coralroot . . .

. . . a clear-winged hummingbird moth . . .

. . .  a sharp-shinned hawk (or maybe it is a Cooper's) . . .

. . . a snowshoe hare having lost most of its winter white . . .

. . . a bug-eaten arnica flower . . .

. . . and a more pristine calypso orchid!

If you have interesting photos of your outings, send them along with a description to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and we'll try to work them into these weekly reports!
