Swan Rangers Still Seeking Spring!

Arriving at Wolf Creek! (Keith Hammer photos)

Seven Swan Rangers went seeking signs of Spring on a frigid Saturday, March 31, 2018!

They found several interesting things while hiking on frozen boiler plate snow to Wolf Creek!

Sign of Spring #1: the Swan Rangers without skis on!

Sign of Spring #2: skunk cabbage!

Sign of Spring #3: green sprouting shotgun shells!

Sign of Spring #4: giant Easter Bunny poop!

Sign of Spring #5: Ice on just part of a stick!

Sign of Spring #6: Ice on a just part of a rock!

Sign of Spring #7: The cliffs at Windy Point are mostly ice-free!

Sign that a dog with OCD has passed this way!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking or skiing in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
