Swan Rangers Snowshoe North Krause!

You have to cross South Krause to get to North Krause! (Keith Hammer photos)

Eight Swan Rangers hiked and snowshoed up North Krause Creek while three skied at Blacktail Mountain Nordic Trails on Saturday, April 7, 2018!

Hiking on the hard pack got a little iffy as the day warmed up and the snow softened!

What a cheerful bunch of people!

North Krause Creek flows from the base of Peters Ridge.

Half the group strapped on snowshoes and headed further up North Krause Creek where they usually turn around.

This necessitates a couple more creek crossings, but not on this snakey looking snow bridge!

This snow bridge proved a little more trustworthy!

A glance back at Peters Ridge as fowl weather moves in!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking or skiing in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
