Swan Rangers Snowshoe Infinity Ridge!

Wind and snow shape the Swan Crest in winter, here south of Infinity Ridge! (Keith Hammer photos)

Sixteen Swan Rangers hiked and snowshoed the Infinity Ridge area on Saturday, April 19, with half making it to the top!

It was a mostly sunny day and the Rangers saw tracks of a big black bear and the Easter Bunny!

Infinity Ridge lies east of the Strawberry Lake Road and the unnamed 6,888' peak at its top overlooks Wildcat Lake in the Jewel Basin.

Sill looking fresh, before the uphill!

Earning the good views higher up!

Earning the great views higher still!

Pulling on a layer to enjoy the views at the top, with Mt. Aeneas at center distance.

Enjoying views of Echo and Flathead Lakes on the way down!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
