Swan Rangers Ski Porcupine Road!

Looking up the Swan River from the Porcupine bridge! (Keith Hammer photos)

Five Swan Rangers skied the Porcupine Road on a sunny, crunchy in the morning Saturday, March 16, 2019!

With the spur road to Mission Lookout tore up by snow machines, they kept to the Porupine Road for four miles before turning around for a softer-snow yet pretty quick downhill return!

Soaking up some sun on the Porcupine Bridge . . .

. . . where the snow this year is nearly as deep as the guardrails that usually serve as butt-rests!

It's official: Spring has sprung!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
