Swan Rangers Ski Nordi-Krause!

North Fork Krause Creek! (Keith Hammer photos)

Eight Swan Rangers skied the North Fork of Krause Basin on a snowy wet Saturday, February 8, 2020!

The deeper one skis into Krause Basin, the deeper the snow!

It was snowing hard enough to make one want to . . .

. . . take shelter!

But even getting wet is fun . . .

. . . when the trail is so inviting . . .

. . . and the trees so intimate and willing to share their snow!

Unlike the North Fork running water year-round, the South Fork this winter is not running at lower elevations!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When recreating in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
