Swan Rangers in Awe of Thaw!

Swan Crest by Chris Gotschalk

Swan Rangers took in some powder snow and the first major thaw since early November during their outings in NW Montana this past week!

Click here or scroll down for the Rangers' photos and details!

In our lead photo, Chris Gotschalk found some good skiing up on the Swan Crest!

Keith Hammer skied what may be some of the last powder at lower elevations with Pam Willison, who . . .

. . . measures up to the healthy snow pack!

But then it warmed up and here Pam Willison shows us the Snow fleas/Springtails that came out!

Norma Linsky shows us a spring that is thawing out!

Lynn Smith found some swans enjoying some of what little open water is yet available in the Flathead Valley, as most ponds remain frozen over!

Ruth Quist sent in this nice photo of a pair of Mourning doves!

Pat Jaquith sent in photos of an American goldfinch and . . .

. . . a House finch!

In our parting shot, Pam Willison thinks this young Whitetail buck ought to start thinking about losing last year's antlers so he can start growing a new pair!
