Swan Rangers Hike Wolf Creek!

Wolf Creek pulling on a winter cloak! (Keith Hammer photos)

Nine Swan Rangers hiked into Wolf Creek on a wintery Saturday, November 4, 2017!

They hiked in several inches snow via the old Bear Creek Road.

Such a colorful group!

Lots of snow clinging to trees and . . .

. . . the golden larch have not yet . . .

. . . lost their needles!

The old Bear Creek Road offers a few glimpses of the valley below as it gently climbs the toe of Broken Leg Mountain.

Winter has its beauty, even in early November!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Big game rifle hunting season is Oct 21 - Nov 26, so it is wise to wear "hunter orange" and other bright colors while hiking!

Everyone is welcome!
