Swan Rangers Hike Twin Lakes Loop!

A view of Flathead Lake when exiting Jewel Basin! (Keith Hammer photos unless otherwise noted)

Eleven Swan Rangers hiked a loop in Jewel Basin on Saturday, August 13, in through the big notch by Twin Lakes and back out via the little notch above Picnic Lakes!

Wildflowers are in full bloom along Alpine Trail #7, thanks to heavy snow drifts that delay summer up there!

What a crew!

Still lots of wildflowers along Alpine Trail #7!

A really big old spruce tree above Camp Misery!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
