Swan Rangers Hike Swan River Trail!

The snow/rain line shows clearly on the Swan Range up river. (Bob Muth photos)

Nine Swan Rangers hiked the Swan River Trail upstream from Bigfork on what started as a rainy Saturday, March 29, 2014!

As the weather cleared, the Rangers kept wandering around until they'd hiked nearly eight miles!

Along the way they saw lots of geese, bufflehead and golden eye ducks, and heard many a varied thrush and flicker!

Bright smiles and bright colors on a slightly gray day!

A Canada goose cools its feet on remaining ice along the Swan River!

A pair of Canada geese practice one portion of their walk-swim-fly triathalon!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

Everyone is welcome!
