Swan Rangers Hike Sixmile to Alp 7!

Where the land meets the sky and the rock meets the snow! (Roger Benson photo)

Fifteen Swan Rangers hiked the Sixmile Lookout Trail to its junction with Alpine Trail #7 on a sunny Saturday, May 23, 2015!

There is considerable snow pack from there on, so they called it a day and will return later in summer!

That's right; snow gremlins! Endangered by global warming and found only in rare places like Sixmile Mountain!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
