Did the Rangers get wet on the hike up?

Yes, but it helped keep the sweat and bugs off!

The thundershowers had clear by the time they were ready to enter the Burn. They ate a sunny lunch within sight of the Swan Crest and its pass into Quintonkon Creek!

Evergreen ceanothus is abundunt in the Burn, in full flower and very fragrant!

Mountain hollyhock.

A cinnamon-colored black bear near the trail!

Sure sign of an unhappy camper along the trail - one that has lost its binky!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
