It didn't rain, now that a record has been set for October rainfall!

Orange you glad it's hunting season?

Grand old snag in morning light!

A frosty whatchamacallit!

First morning rays of sunlight turn frost to dew, here on honeysuckle berries!

A nice mix of snowberry and deadly nightshade! Trick or treat and witch is witch?

The Rangers cleared several large downfall from the trail as part of their Swan Rangers in Service program!

Swan Ranger Special: why spend $50 to replace a rusted-out vacuum canister when an old Nalgene bottle works just fine?

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Big game hunting season runs Oct 22 - Nov 27, so wear "hunter orange" when hiking!

Everyone is welcome!
