Swan Rangers Hike Krause Basin!

Taking a stroll through Cottonwood Bottom! (Keith Hammer photos)

Five Swan Rangers hiked Krause Basin on a chilly Saturday, October 6, 2018!

They hiked all three forks of Krause Creek, amid Fall colors and strange mushrooms!

Under a spreading cottonwood tree, the Swan Rangers stand.

Don't forget to look up once in a while!

The confluence where the South and Middle Forks of Krause Creek come together.

The North Fork of Krause Creek.

The Devil's Club has turned bright yellow . . .

. . . while the Dogwood is turning bright red!

Some sort of blue cheese mushroom!

Pretty mushrooms!

Strange creatures abound on this mossy boulder!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Everyone is welcome!
