Eight Swan Rangers hiked to Hall Lake on a pleasant Saturday, August 23, that was forecast to be very rainy!
While overcast, it was the perfect temperature for hiking and bug-free!

These Swan Rangers are NOT eating huckleberries; they've simply lost the trail for a moment. If there were huckleberries along the trail, which there are NOT, they'd gladly share that information with you!

The bridge over Groom Creek is broken and no longer lines up with its hand line, which nonetheless comes in handy for a sketchy dry boot crossing!
The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.
They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.
When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.
