Swan Rangers hiked to Elk Springs, Lupine Lake and Upper Geiger Lake in the week ending Saturday, August 22, 2020!

While the Swan Ranger Saturday group outings remain suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic, we will get a report out each week with items of interest to folks trying to get outside for some "social distancing" and spirit-calming fresh air.

 

Keith and Pam hiked up to Elk Springs in the Swan Range on a beautiful Fall-like day, where they checked out the old elk hunting camp and observed plants starting to show Fall colors!

 

They found this old burned snag with a heart of gold loved by woodpeckers . . .

 

. . . while Debra Schweitzer found this still-living broken-top tree with several woodpecker holes . . .

 

. . . on her hike with friends to Lupine Lake west of Kalispell!
