Fourteen Swan Rangers hiked up Crane Mountain on Saturday, February 14, 2015!

They hiked up to the Estes Lake Trailhead area and onto the wonderful, glaciated rocks there, listening to varied thrush already returned for "Spring!"

Overcast with smiles!

A beautiful spring on Crane Mountain!

The glaciated bedrock atop Crane Mountain showed sign of lots of use by elk - who likely bed down there so they can gaze across at the Swan Range!

Two Rangers checked out the Seeley Lake Nordic Ski Trails way south in the Swan Range . . .

. . . which offer some 12 miles of groomed trails in various loops!  (Keith Hammer photos)

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 8:30, leaving at 9:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

Everyone is welcome!
