Swan Rangers Hike and Clear Bear to Wolf!

Wolf Creek! (Norma Linsky photos)

Six Swan Rangers hiked and cleared blowdown from the old road between Bear and Wolf creeks on a gray Saturday, October 19, 2019!

It was a great outing, especially considering the wintery forecast!

Bright and cheery companionship on a gray day!

Rangers selecting the right tool for the job!

Inspecting the root wad of a blown-over tree.

Why did the grouse cross the road?

What is that fairy-looking thing? Maybe a clematis flower gone to seed?

Two Rangers show off their hunter-orange hats in anticipation of the start of big game hunting season next weekend!

The Swan Rangers meet every Saturday at the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast at 7:30, leaving at 8:30 for a partial day outing in the northern Swan Mountains and foothills.

They carpool from the Swan River School parking lot next to the Cafe.

When hiking in bear country, remember to carry bear spray and avoid the 3-D's: dawn, dusk, and darkness.

Big game hunting season runs Oct 26 - Dec 1, so wear some bright colors while hiking out there!

Everyone is welcome!
